it's in the air...
my favorite christmas song is Oh Holy Night, mostly because of the second verse.
Truly He taught us to love one another;
His law is love and His gospel is peace.
Chains shall He break for the slave is our brother;
And in His name all oppression shall cease.
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we,
Let all within us praise His holy name.
Christ is the Lord! O praise His Name forever,
His power and glory evermore proclaim.
His power and glory evermore proclaim.
More than anything I think this encompasses the meaning of Christmas. The celebration of the birth of Jesus who came to change mankind forever. Not only through the joining of family and friends during this magical time of year but through the gift of the miracle in becoming like man being God and reconciling God with His creation through the ultimate sacrifice of His life.
It is that miracle and gift that provides the impetus to love others and live in peace all in an act of gratitude to the Giver of Life, physical and eternal.
Merry Christmas, blogging friends, may your time with those you love be filled with God's peace and love as we all celebrate together the greatest gift of all.
love,
Daniela
